Leicester City Council’s Arts and Museums section have undertaken a major redevelopment of their German Expressionist art collection, funded by Arts Council England. As a part of this process the importance of the collection was evaluated and a series of reports by independent art experts were commissioned, to assess and evidence the significance of the collection nationally and internationally.

These were completed in April 2014.

The commissioned reports will benchmark the value of the collection for future reference and feed directly into the development of collecting strategies around German Expressionism.

The reports are published here with the agreement of the authors, who retain full copyright. No  report, either in part or in full may be reproduced or published without the prior permission of Leicester City Council and the authors concerned.

This website and the information it contains has been created as a free public resource, but in return we ask that any use is properly acknowledged. In particular, please cite the reports in the appropriate manner.
