Academic Reports & Essays

Leicester City Council’s Arts and Museums section have undertaken a major redevelopment of their German Expressionist art collection, funded by Arts Council England. As a part of this process the importance of the collection was evaluated and a series of reports by independent art experts were commissioned, to assess and evidence the significance of the collection nationally and internationally.

Collecting Policy

A large number of cultural objects and works of art were systematically looted by the Nazis and others during the Second World War and the Holocaust Era from 1933-1945; an activity which is often described as spoliation.
